Getting Your Baby Ready In The Right Position For Labour

Labours are long and painful for most mothers. It is the most natural way to give birth to a child and complications can be dealt with when done under proper medical supervision. Well, if people tell you that there is no way you can make your labour less painful, then they are probably right, but you can always prepare your body as well as get your baby in the right position to make the labour process a little bit easier for you and your child.

In order to prepare yourself for labour, you will need to exercise regularly and you need to attend birthing classes with your partner as well. This will facilitate the process and ensure that your delivery is free of complications as much as possible. When it comes to the baby, then it has to be in a head down position. This is a position in which the head of the baby faces the birthing canal so that when labour hits it is easier for the mother when the child comes out. It is ideally said that a child’s head position should set in between 32 weeks of pregnancy but it might take a little bit more time than that in some cases. There is no need to panic though, since your doctor will be the best person to facilitate the turning of the baby in a head down position in your uterus.

What to do in case your baby’s head does not turn in 32 weeks?

There are certain cases when the baby’s head does not turn within the normally estimated period. However there are ways in your daily through which you can facilitate the Head down baby positions process. However before you start trying out any one of these you need to make sure that you have consulted with your doctor first.

You can try and sit in a position is which your knees do not cross the level of your hips. This is the ideal way to get your baby in the position which is ideal for birthing. In fact the ideal position for birthing would be the head of the baby facing the spinal cord of the mother. This ensures that the baby’s head which is to come first directly faces the birth canal and hence makes the labour process less difficult for the mother.

Make sure that you get plenty of mild but regular exercise like say walking. You have to do this regularly to keep yourself active and fit and this will ensure that your body is comfortable taking the baby in itself and going about its daily functions.

Another excellent way to get your baby’s head in the right position is to scrub or clean the floor. Get down on your knees in such a way so that your knee and hip are in the same level and then scrub the floor. However in the process of getting your head down baby position do not harm yourself and do ask your doctor before you try this.

These are just some ways to get your baby in the right position. Consult your doctor in case of any difficulties.
