Luisa Zissman is not the sort of woman who most people consider to be lacking in confidence. The Apprentice runner-up certainly came across as self-assured when she took part in the closely-fought battle to win Alan Sugar’s business backing during the latest series of the BBC show.
However, it seems as though there are chinks in the bubbly 26-year-old’s armour. Recently, she revealed that, like a lot of women, she has body issues. The curvaceous brunette went on a crash diet to shed a stone in a month. Her decision was made in part because of negative comments she received online in response to photos of her on holiday in Marbella.
Talking about her efforts to get in shape, she said: “I thought I looked a bit fat in the gold bikini pictures of me. I saw myself and thought, ‘I’m going to tone up’.” She added: “Like every woman, I have a lot of body issues. I’m really curvy, but I don’t really like my hips or love handles.”
The businesswoman and reality TV star noted that in the past her weight has fluctuated between nine stone three pounds and eight stone two pounds.
Zissman also explained that she had a breast enhancement following the birth of her daughter three years ago. She noted that she put on three-and-a-half-stone while pregnant. Talking about her breast enhancement, she remarked: “When you are pregnant you can lose sight of who you are and, for me, getting a boob job was part of being me again.” She went on to state: “My boobs had turned into empty sacks after my pregnancy, so I had them boosted from 32C to a 32E.”
No doubt the entrepreneur was eager to find the best cosmetic surgeons UK to perform the treatment.
Talking about her battle to beat the bulge, she said: “I was unhappy with how my stomach looked from having a baby – I had a bit of a jelly belly. I always keep a close eye on my weight and it can fluctuate quite a lot.”
To help her get back in shape she has been doing home workout sessions lasting 30 minutes each. These combine a range of exercises, including squat thrusts, burpees, leg raises crunches and press ups. She has also been following a high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet. In the mornings, she has porridge or fresh fruit and Greek yoghurt, followed by soup for lunch and fish or chicken with salad for her early evening meal. The mother-of-one has also imposed a ‘carb curfew’ from 6.30 each night and has cut out all fruit juices.
