If you’ve noticed those fleshy little growths on your skin and tempting to pick at, you’ve likely developed the skin tags. With the scientific name ‘achrochordons’, these skin tags occur due to friction of the skin around the areas like neck, under arms or the groin and often cause irritation from skin rubbing on the skin or on the clothing. These raised small little bumps or flaps are completely harmless, but they’re probably annoying if you don’t like their look. They may tempt you to yank them off, but you should never do that.
Skin tags are mostly caused to the people having diabetes and obese or overweight people. They are composed of fat cells, nerve cells, core of ducts and fibers covered with epidermis. The size of these skin tags may vary from 2.5 mm to 1 cm or even as big as 5cm in diameter and the color ranges from brown and flesh-colored to dark pigmented skin.
Although the skin tags are completely harmless, most of the people opt for skin tag removal due to cosmetic and aesthetic reasons.
